Fifty Shades Darker book summary

The story picks up exactly where the first book ends.

Anastasia, a recent graduate, finds a job in a small publishing house. Christian, a wonderful billionaire fanatic of S&M practices, tries to mend the tear given to their "relationship" by Anastasia a few days earlier.

The girl broke off believing that she would not be able to bear all of her "special" requests from her in the inability to live with her dark past.

The girl's rejection is new to Christian. The two resume dating and as he slowly adjusts to this woman different from her standard of hers, he slowly manages to break her heart. The attitude of the male protagonist changes,

slowly abandoning the punitive erotic practices to devote himself to a softer form of sex, only to please and not lose the woman he is falling in love with. Sex often creates contrasts between the two: he always intrusive, she trying to maintain her autonomy by fighting to keep Christian away from the past that regularly reappears.

The second book ends with an official proposal from Christian to Anastasia, but the future still holds hard tests for them, the return to everyday life is anything but serene.
