 Redwall book summary

The plot of all books is built around Redwall Abbey - a red stone building in which peace-loving animals (mice, squirrels, hedgehogs, otters, shrews, moles, etc.) live. Redwall is located in the Land of Blooming Mosses, the central region of this world. Redwalls do not adhere to any religion,

but their leader - the abbot / abbess - is the wisest beast that the rest choose. In addition, the inhabitants of the abbey revere the founder of Redwall and the ancient hero - Martin the Warrior. According to legend, he freed the inhabitants of the northern lands from the slavery of the Badrang ermine, and then came to the Land of Flowering Mosses and defeated the wild cat Tsarmina, who kept all the inhabitants of the country at bay.

On the site of the old cat castle of Kotira, the inhabitants, led by Martin and the first abbess Hermina, built Redwall to make peaceful animals feel calm.

The further history of the abbey is revealed in 22 books. Almost every book tells how the inhabitants of the abbey repel the attacks of predators, who, having heard about the wealth and power of Redwall, try to capture it or somehow harm it.

At the same time, the series is full of interesting twists and varied storylines. A special distinguishing feature is the fact that in many books there are riddles and secrets that the characters are trying to solve. Often the spirit of Martin the Warrior appears as a help to the inhabitants of Redwaller in difficult times, to show them the way to solve problems.
